A seasoned trial attorney and recognized training leader, Jason Kalish serves as faculty for Vera Causa 

Group as well as Bureau Chief of the White Collar, Cyber Crime Bureau at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Jason has dedicated his entire career to prosecution, serving as a Deputy Maricopa County Attorney since 1997.  
 

Over the course of his career, Jason has handled a broad range of serious criminal matters. He prosecuted gang members and repeat offenders in the Gang/ROP Bureau and served as a supervisor in the Charging/Grand Jury, Preliminary Hearings, and Juvenile Crimes bureaus. He then returned to trial work and spent nearly a decade prosecuting homicides in the Family Violence Bureau and the Homicide Bureau, later renamed the Capital Litigation Bureau. In 2014, Jason was named APAAC Prosecutor of the Year for his role as lead counsel in the retrial of the 1991 Buddhist Temple murders.
 

A committed educator throughout his career, Jason was named the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Trainer of the Year in 2003 and served as Bureau Chief of the Training Bureau. He has taught prosecutors and law enforcement professionals on a wide variety of topics at venues across the country.

Mr. Kalish earned his undergraduate degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law with the goal of becoming a prosecutor. During law school he served as an Honors Intern with the FBI and gained experience at the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
