Prosecutors nationwide are deeply troubled by current research and disturbing current events.  Many have heard the voices in their community calling for change yet wonder what they can do to promote racial equity beyond the actions they are already taking to ensure a just society for everyone.  This lecture will discuss the origins of racial injustice in America.  Our goal is that attendees leave with the mindset of an “anti-racist prosecutor,” knowing what they can do to help dismantle systemic racism in America and mitigate its effects.

Vera Causa Group instructors will provide high-impact strategies to promote racial equity inside and outside the office.  You will have the opportunity to brainstorm with your colleagues on how to best implement strategies for diversity and inclusion.

Many are apprehensive about having these discussions because they are terrified of saying the wrong thing and making matters worse. In reality, silence promotes racial inequity and mistrust.  We must learn how to have frank discussions constructively if we are to move the needle towards more racial justice in America. Participants will learn helpful guidelines for having these conversations open, respectful, and productive.  In addition, attendees can practice these skills in meaningful discussions with their colleagues.
