Drawing on hundreds of media relationships nationwide, Ms. Ryan has guided both local and high-profile national media strategies for prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and private-sector clients. She was among the first Public Information Officers ever appointed to a prosecutor’s office in one of America’s most challenging high-crime cities—a formative experience she draws on openly, sharing hard-won lessons alongside her successes.

 

With more than 24 years of dedicated work in this space, Ms. Ryan has trained thousands of prosecutors and law enforcement officers across offices of every size and philosophy, from traditional to progressive. She continues to serve law enforcement agencies, state and national prosecutor associations, and government agencies at every level.

 

Ms. Ryan is a regular faculty member of the National District Attorney’s Association (NDAA), the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA), the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators (NAPC), and dozens of state prosecutor organizations. She has also served as a guest speaker for the Missouri Bar Association, the Conference Board, the Working Mother Magazine Workplace Diversity Conference, and the California Institute of Technology Leadership Program, addressing audiences on leadership, management, and media strategy.

 

Prior to founding SC Ryan Consulting, LLC in 2000 and Vera Causa Group, LLC in 2016, Ms. Ryan served as Vice President of Strategic Communications and Diversity at Monsanto/Bayer, where she helped steer global communications and human resources through mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, and a sweeping redesign of the company’s business strategy and corporate culture. Earlier in her career, she held on-air and communications roles at two Viacom-owned television stations, KSLA-TV in Shreveport, LA and KMOV-TV in St. Louis, MO.

 

Ms. Ryan holds a double major in Journalism and Radio/Television from Bradley University in Illinois. She lives in St. Louis County, Missouri with her husband and, when she’s not on a client call or the golf course, can usually be found answering to Birdie, her loyal, self-appointed office assistant.
